Iron Hill Bewery is a staple of Southeastern Pennsylvania and Northern Delaware. All the locals love it, and their fresh brewed beer keeps them coming back for more. On this particular night, we visited the newly-opened restaurant in Ardmore, PA on the Main Line. The beer we drank came straight from their restaurant in Wilmington, DE, a short 30 minutes away. Each one of their eleven restaurants teams up with local charities to donate to causes such as CureSearch for Children’s Cancer, Home of the Sparrow and the Ardmore Food Pantry.
“Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant produces distinctive, full-flavored handcrafted beers, accompanied by inspired yet informal New American cuisine in a comfortable, casual atmosphere.” -Iron Hill
Iron Hill does beer-tastings (seen above), which are four small glasses of the beer that is featured on tap for that day – all for only $6. If one of these tastes jumps out as your favorite, and you’re wishing you could take it home with you – well, you can! (At least that’s what we did). They fill up a 64 ounce growler for you to take with you, and when the growler goes dry, you can bring the glass jug back and they’ll refill it with your choice of beer!
For our eats, we indulged in a very fairly priced dish of Pan Seared Nantucket Sea Scallops, complete with exotic mushroom risotto, asparagus spears with pecorino romano and roasted tomato vinaigrette. Simply outstanding, fresh, buttery and delicious. For our appetizer we opted for the Fried Rhode Island Calamari with red peppers, poblano peppers, cilantro aioli and lime zest. There is nothing better than peppers and calamari in our opinion.
Your experience at Iron Hill is sure to please, from their inspired dishes to their cold, fresh beer. You need to go.
