You guessed it – Chicago! Hey, it’s Mollie. I was so excited to travel to Chicago for work and eat as much as I could (even if it was only for a short 36 hours). I coordinated an event at the Goose Island Clybourn Brewpub, owned and operated by Goose Island Beer Company. This brewpub has a restaurant and a private event room, with excellent service, brewers on-hand, and obviously delicious fresh craft beer. They have over 25 beers on draft at this location, smack in the heart of Chicago’s Lincoln Park. Below are pictures from the private dinner: parsnip puree and pork belly. The second and third of four courses, all hand-selected to pair with their beers. If you’re having a private event, rehearsal dinner or birthday party anytime soon, I highly suggest having it at the Goose Island Clybourn!
The next morning called for some freshly baked handmade donuts. I met up with some local friends and we walked straight to Do-Rite Donuts and got a few goodies – the favorite being their vanilla bean glazed. Ohhhhhhh. Just what I needed.
Then, I couldn’t leave Chicago without getting some forreal deep dish pizza. My friends suggested I go to Lou Malnati’s and I was NOT disappointed. The pizza takes 45 minutes to make, and obviously there was a wait, so they kindly let us put in our order while we waited for our table. By the time we were seated our pizza was hot and ready! Some adjectives that come to mind while eating/staring at this pizza: OMG, sigh, saucy, cheesy, naughty, my new boyfriend (sorry, Maris). It was so good and you should book your flight to Chicago and get your bum over to Lou Malnati’s. There is so much left to explore – I can’t wait to go back!
