We LOVE Thanksgiving! Who doesn’t? It’s THE holiday for food lovers. 🙂
More importantly, it’s a day where food shows its true value – it unifies the family. Food brings us together at the dinner table. Our busy lives often prevent us from sharing a family meal, but Thanksgiving reminds us that we have the opportunity to do so each and every day. Quality family time, laughs and stories are first and foremost why we love this holiday. But secondly, it gives us an excuse to dig in and eat as if we haven’t eaten in 45 days. So this Thanksgiving, feast big and stuff your belly, but be sure to take a moment to show gratitude for the food in front of you, and for loved ones to share it with.
Every year, a few new dishes make an appearance at our Thanksgiving dinner. However, we have a few staple traditions that have stuck around and we couldn’t imagine Thanksgiving without them.
One of those is our broccoli slaw coleslaw. Mmmmmmm. Now, we know what you’re thinking, broccoli slaw is far from traditional. And you’re right! This is traditional coleslaw but with broccoli slaw substituting the cabbage slaw. The dish not only provides better health benefits, but we find it tastier and much fresher.
Next, the stuffing. The most classic of classics for Thanksgiving. We love our take on this dish because it incorporates the same spices we use in our turkey, and it is super simple to make! There are a lot of moving parts during Thanksgiving dinner, and this stuffing is an easy way to make a delicious side.
Finally, dun dun dun. The most tender, juicy, moist, succulent, sweet turkey in the world. But really. This bird is GOOD. In this recipe, we go through each step of the process with you. Brining, preparing, cooking, resting. Your family will think you drove to Heaven and back for this turkey. This recipe comes from Mollie’s dad (thanks, Dad) and we bet it will become a staple dish for you too.
We hope you get the chance to try some of our favorite Thanksgiving recipes and have an amazing holiday full of loved ones, food, and gratitude.
