We recently had the pleasure of dining at the 8th & Union Kitchen in the Little Italy section of Wilmington, Delaware. This new restaurant offers up some truly unique takes on American Gastropub classics, much needed for the city’s growing palate. The contemporary décor features some awesome reclaimed wood, a huge bar and outdoor seating. Influenced by Southeast Asian ingredients, the 8th & Union Kitchen offers many gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options (which you don’t find many of in Wilm). Here you can spice up your Friday night by ordering Green Mango with Chili Salt for an appetizer, and for your main, a traditional burger with a side of fried rice.
On this beautiful summer night we decided to go for the Kennett Square Burger, consisting of bacon, swiss cheese, mushrooms and a perfectly sunny side up egg (check out our yolk “before” picture below). We also went for the chicken bahn mi with a honey lemongrass glaze and a kewpie mayo. Mmmmm.
Ensue mouth watering…..
For all our drink lovers out there (we know who you are), 8th & Union Kitchen offers up an abundance of unique craft beers on tap & bottled, and they also stir up some naughty cocktails. We can’t get over this place. We’ll see you there.
